How to Add Face Masks In Your Self Care Routine

We all know that self care is very important. It should be incorporated into our everyday routines. Although this is true, some days we might want to add a little extra sparkle to our skincare routine. When you have the time, I highly recommend that you add a face mask to your skin routine. You never know when your skin might need it!

Which Kind Of Face Mask Should I Be Using?

When it comes to doing masks there are many different rules and types. In reality it is all about going with the type that you feel most comfortable with. However, the truth is that there are going to be certain face masks that work better for your skin rather than others. Here's a brief description of the different types.

Cream Masks
  • Cream masks are one of the most popular kinds of masks. They have amazing skin benefits which can include extra hydration and glowing skin. These masks can be kind of messy but they are a quick way to relax and soothe your tired skin. These masks can also contain enzyme and exfoliating masks, which do a great job of getting rid of dead skin.

Sheet Masks
  • My absolute favorite kind of face mask! These masks are extremely fun to do and feel very relaxing on your skin. It feels like you are giving your skin a refresher and makes you feel like you're achieving your maximum self care level. They come in many different shapes and different smells. They are also very fun to take selfies with!

Clay Masks
  • These are probably the most important types of masks. The reason why is because these masks are specifically only made for giving your skin a detox. Clay masks are normally very powerful and have a strong effect on your skin. After all, it is clay. They normally work the best for oily skin because the masks deprives your skin of any excess oils. Dry skin girls, like myself, should only use this mask a couple of times a month.

When Should You Do a Face Mask?

After reading all of this information about face masks, you should definitely consider adding them to your skincare routine. The question might be exactly when should you do a face mask?

The average schedule for most people to do a face mask is weekly. Many people indulge at the beginning or the end of the week. My favorite time is on a Sunday or a Monday, so I can have clean and refreshed skin for the upcoming week. I truly feel like I am starting the week off right.

If you are someone who enjoys wearing makeup. It is also important that your take very good care of your skin. Wearing makeup without proper skincare turns into breakouts galore. Makeup clogs your pores, so doing face masks weekly will help keep your pores clear and your skin clean and glowy.

Also, investing in a facial steamer to use while you mask may not be such a bad idea!
