What is screen time?
A lot of us may have heard of the term "screen time". Screen time is just a clear way of saying how much time you spend in front of a tv, phone, or computer screen. It can also be measured by how much blue light you are consuming.
Blue light is a light emitted from any electronic device. This ranges to anywhere from phone screens to computer and television screens. Blue light gives off rays that can be very harmful to your brain and skin.

Screen time and its effect on your skin
Too much screen time overall has many downsides to it. Over exposure can lead to damage to your body or skin.
Cons of screen time:
Premature aging
Under eye circles or bags
Hyperpigmentation
Insomnia
All of these effects from a screen might sound hard to believe. However, studies have shown that the blue light emitted from screens contain rays similar to UV or UVA lights, which can have long lasting effects on the skin. The rays will eventually penetrate the skin's surface and go beneath it, causing some cell or tissue damage.
How Can I Cut Down On Screen Time?
Sunscreen is always the best option! Reapply every hour or so
Go outside and get some Vitamin D
Take breaks from the computer and TV
Continue to moisturize

Most of us may not be able to control our screen time if we work in front of a computer or have a job that requires electronics. However, these are steps that you can take to help protect your skin!
